Overview
The Port Jervis Corps is seeking a Summer Fun assistant to assist and care for children in our summer fun program. Summer Fun will run from July 5 August 19 2016. Tuesday Thursday from 9am-2pm and Fridays 9am 5pm.
Responsibilities
Assist the Corps Officer by adhering to schedule and coordination of program, including daily activity schedules, group outings, and program guidelines
Assist Corps officer with daily set up and clean up Assist Corps officer and volunteers in supervision of Children, during meals, field trips, recreation times, and other scheduled activities
Complete and file reports regarding programs, activities, disciplinary or incidents in a timely, neat, and orderly manner
Help Corps Officer with keeping records/statistics for day camp;
Assist with set up and cleanup of program areas (meals, before and after Summer fun daily)
Be willing to lead devotions and songs whenever asked by Corps officer
Assisting Corps Officers as necessary
Qualifications
Must be able to Obtain Working papers
Effective communication skills
Experience working with children
Must be safety conscious
Must be able to read, write, and communicate clearly, in English
Must have the ability to work and relate well with individuals who have varying needs
Must be able to handle difficult situations/confrontations in a professional manner
Must possess and understanding of and appreciation for the mission of The Salvation Army

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
