Medical Director- Psychiatry-Bon Secours Community Hospital
Job DescriptionThe Bon Secours Community Hospital is looking for a Medical Director for the Psychiatry Department.
They would be responsible for Behavioral Health and Chemical Dependency Services at Bon Secours Community Hospital.
The Medical Director oversees clinical services to ensure regulatory compliance in accordance with CMS, Joint Commission, OASAS, and OMH standards and guidelines.
Responsibilities:
Provides primary patient care for the Inpatient Mental Health UnitAttends Court Proceedings as Needed for legal proceedings associated with patient careProvides clinical oversight for Inpatient Detoxification and Rehabilitation Services including Medication Assisted TreatmentServes as Consultant and Liaison with Medical Floors and Nursing HomesProvides Tele-Psychiatric Services with St.
Anthony HospitalProvides on-call services one night a week and 1 weekend a monthCompletes Peer Reviews with insurances carriers to determine medical necessity and prior authorizations for medications/careOversees compliance with electronic records and accurate billing for each encounterCompletes psychiatric provider schedule and ensures proper coverage on all BH unitsLeads monthly providers meetings with BH leadership and providersAttends and Participates in Incident Review Committee MeetingsWorks with Administrators regarding Policy and Procedure, Utilization, and ProductivityProvides guidance and leadership for Performance Improvement Plans and Quality InitiativesProvides leadership with Orange County LGUConducts in-service training and education for staffPerform other duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:
Experience:
minimum of 3 years experience in Psychiatry Education:
M.
D.
with Board Certification in PsychiatryLicenses / Certifications:
Board Certification in Psychiatry, Board Certification in Addiction preferred (must have within 4 years of hire date)About us:
